Profile nibblers – Krähe + Wöhr, making facades into works of art
The right use of sheet metal can make little works of art of any roof or facade. At Krähe + Wöhr, TRUMPF profile nibblers are one of the most important tools used every day.
The company has an extreme degree of vertical integration which goes far beyond "normal" steel construction. While comparable operations have outsourced roof and facade constructions, CEO Alexander Wöhr is keeping a firm grip on it, and customers regularly confirm that he's on the right path. A decisive factor for the smooth handling of a project, besides the experience of the workers, is the use of high-quality tools.

"We have relied on TRUMPF for half an eternity," explains toolmaker master Ernst Zimmermann. "I have been with the company for 32 years. Even when I started, we had a TRUMPF beveller. In the meantime, we have also started using a lot of TRUMPF profile nibblers. Their quality is one of a kind and the tools are nearly indestructible if they are serviced properly.
At the "Heilbronner Stimme" construction site, Krähe+Wöhr workers were on the job using TRUMPF profile nibblers on a daily basis for about four months. Many hundreds of meters of cuts were made.The trapezoidal and corrugated sheet metal, in both steel and aluminum, was cut lengthwise, and numerous holes and gaps were punched.

There's no real alternative for TRUMPF profile nibblers for Krimmer. "Sure, there are companies working with angle grinders. But you're going to have rust problems with that, no matter what you do. Especially the uncontrolled spattering of hot chips damages the surface of the sheet metal coating, and that leads to corrosion in no time." Moreover, when using angle grinders, after the work is done you still have to do laborious deburring.
"I handle considerably more than 90% of my cutting work for sheet metal profiles with profile nibblers. The cutting direction can be selected from 72 positions. That's particularly handy." Krähe+Wöhr are convinced of the quality of their TRUMPF products. "We like the advantages of the TRUMPF tools."
And that goes for the service, too. Zimmermann tells us why: "When we need replacement parts or a tool needs some repair work, things always work out smoothly and quickly."
