As part of the 2006 International Trade Fair for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, he will receive a gold medal and a certificate of excellence on behalf of his company and the TRUMPF TSC 1 slat cleaner. The category: “The 2006 Government Award for Outstanding Innovative Achievement,” awarded by the Munich and Upper Bavarian Chamber of Trade.
For TRUMPF, innovation has always been an important factor of success. The winning of the 2006 government award for outstanding innovative achievement confirms, once again, TRUMPF’s formula for success. An independent board of examiners assessed the various attributes of the new TSC 1. The board inquired extensively into the use of the product by the customer. But other criteria such as product quality, environmental friendliness as well as options for saving energy were included in the assessment.
Werner Cloos says he is thrilled about the award and is convinced that future users of the TRUMPF TSC 1 slat cleaner will also rave about its innovative strength, quality and reliability. This tool enables machine operators of laser cutting machines to effortlessly remove slag deposited during processing from the support slats/pallets. Says Cloos, “Until now, the dirty pallets either had to be replaced immediately or manually pounded with a hammer and home-made tools for many hours to get them clean. Using the TSC 1, it’s easy for users to clean the slats. Now, it takes just about 20 minutes to clean a standard slat of 1,500 mm by 3,000 mm.”
The TRUMPF slat cleaner pays for itself quickly because the costs are about 75 percent of the cost of replacing a pallet. Even compared to doing the work manually, the company will save, on average, about two-thirds of the costs per cleaning procedure. Thus, the tool spares the health of the worker and, at the same time, goes easy on the company’s wallet.
